World AIDS Day is today and Alicia Keys is “dead”.  Swizz Beats is too.  So is Serena Williams and Kim Kardashian.  And Justin Timberlake.

A lot of your favorite celebrities are digitally dead in an effort to raise awareness and money for AIDS research and for children in particular who are affected by the disease.

Your favorite celebrities are signing off their social network sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and Myspace and leaving their millions of followers in the dark as to their whereabouts until $1,000,000 is raised to buy their digital lives back.

It’s hoped by participants that the newly released pictures of celebrities posing in caskets will be able to make the intended impact.
