NFL Star Ray Rice was released by the Baltimore Ravens and suspended indefinitely by the NFL following the release of a video that shows the NFL star striking his wife Janay Rice.
However, Janay Rice has taken to Instagram to hit back at the treatment that her husband was subjected to. She went ahead to criticize the media for playing a part in taking away from her husband something He has worked hard for just to gain publicity and admitted to feeling embarrassed, lonely and hurt something that shows she deeply regrets the incident.
Here’s the full statement (her Instagram profile is private, but the Baltimore Sun has confirmed that the statement was intended to be made public):
“I woke up this morning feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I’m mourning the death of my closest friend. But to have to accept the fact that it’s reality is a nightmare in itself. No one knows the pain that the media & unwanted options from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret every day is a horrible thing. To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his ass of for all his life just to gain ratings is horrific. THIS IS OUR LIFE! What don’t you all get. If your intentions were to hurt us, embarrass us, make us feel alone, take all happiness away, you’ve succeeded on so many levels. Just know we will continue to grow & show the world what real love is! Ravensnation we love you!”
Ray had been serving a 2 Game ban after the video hit the waves on February and after claims that the punishment was too lenient NFL were forced to look into the matter after suggesting that they had not seen the footage of the detailed video.
The couple who got married a few weeks after the elevator incident sat together during a conference in may where Janay defended her husband by expressing her regret on the role she played.
To make it worse Nike have confirmed to dropping Ray in the list of their sponsored athletes and word is that EA Sports will also remove him from Madden 15.
