Winter is, by far, the trickiest season to dress for. Many women feel that they must sacrifice personal style for warmth and comfort or vice versa. So, unless you’re a rare breed of fashionista who lives by the “beauty is pain” mantra –and isn’t afraid of facing frigid temperatures for the sake of fashion — it’s likely that you find yourself in a style rut from December to March.
Well, I’m here to tell you that warmth and style aren’t mutually exclusive. It is entirely possible to be fashionable while combatting sub-zero temps — you just have to get a little creative.
This is why The Urban Twist has teamed up with Natalie from Natalie’s Outlet to present you with five of her best Winter Fashion Survival Tips.
By pairing conventional (and some not so conventional) beauty hacks with her bubbly personality, Natalie has amassed over 450,000 Youtube Subscribers. The popular beauty vlogger is also a part of Michelle Phan‘s ICON Network — a global lifestyle network focused on inspiring millennials to live their best lives — so, she knows a thing or two about style!

Don’t be afraid to wear sweaters that have interesting patterns or go back to another era. The more shapes and colors a sweater has the cooler it will be to style! Here, I styled this tribal sweater with my jean leggings and fun knee high boots for an interest factor.
Accessorizing is everything! Turbans are a great way to add style and warmth to your winter look. They are super cozy and make a bold fashion statement on their own. I love wearing my Turban headbands with my hair up, in a braid or even down for a simpler look.
3. MIX AND MATCH
Mixing and matching polar opposite fabrics can really spice up an outfit. In this case, I took my rocker leather jacket and paired it with a cloth-like headband. It adds a touch of rock and femininity to any outfit and gives it that extra kick.
4. MAKE A STATEMENT
Who says Onesies are only good for sleeping in? I pull out my half pink and half blue onesie from Unisuit.net, whenever I need a little something to brighten up a dreary Winter day.
5. MIX IN OUT OF SEASON PIECES
Who says Summer pieces are just for Summer? Bring in your summer pieces and add that extra warmth with winter pieces. I styled my favorite velvet summer skirt with warm leggings and knee high boots for a little mix of Summer and Winter. Best of both worlds!
