Will Smith as Genie in Aladdin

Aladdin is next on the docket in Disney’s relentless quest to make live-action versions of the animated classics of its 90s heyday.

Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes and Snatch) is slated to direct and that’s about all we know for sure right now. That and that Will Smith is in talks to step into the phenomenally large shoes left behind by Robin Williams as the voice of the genie.

Nothing’s for sure yet, but Smith is rumored to have been interested in doing a family friendly picture for a while (he supposedly wanted to be involved with Disney’s upcoming Dumbo remake, but had to back out because of scheduling conflicts). Voicing the Genie would be a much higher profile gig, as it was one of Williams’ most iconic roles.

There are no other official casting announcements, but the film is supposed to start shooting soon, so expect a bunch of news over the next few weeks.

Marvel Studios has released a new trailer for Black Panther, the new film starring Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, the titular hero and the king of the technologically-advanced African nation of Wakanda.

Check out the trailer above.

Chadwick Boseman debuted as the Black Panther in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War as sought vengeance death of his father, King T’Chaka, against the Winter Soldier. Boseman will also reprise his role as Black Panther for Avengers: Infinity War in May 2018.

The new film sees Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis), who was first introduced in Avengers: Age of Ultron, attempting to return to the hidden nation of Wakanda. He is this time joined by Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan), a mercenary with a grudge against Wakanda’s royal family.

As revealed in the trailer, it seems that both T’Challa and Killmonger will be getting new panther suits in the film. There’s also a brief hint that T’Challa’s sister, Shuri (Letitia Wright), may suit up. Shuri also became Black Panther in the Marvel Universe for a time.

Black Panther opens in theaters on February 16, 2018.

Goodbye Christopher Robin gives a rare glimpse into the relationship between beloved children’s author A. A. Milne (Domhnall Gleeson) and his son Christopher Robin (Will Tilston), whose toys inspired the magical world of Winnie the Pooh.

Along with his mother Daphne (Margot Robbie), and his nanny Olive (Kelly Macdonald), Christopher Robin and his family are swept up in the international success of the books; the enchanting tales bringing hope and comfort to England after the First World War.

But with the eyes of the world on Christopher Robin, what will the cost be to the family?

What is the story behind you landing the job as director of Goodbye Christopher Robin?

I was sent the script and I loved it immediately as it took us inside the story of the writing of ‘Winnie the Pooh’ and introduced us to the remarkable family that created it.

Were you a fan of the ‘Winnie the Pooh’ series as a child?

I cherish memories of my parents reading the stories to me and loved Tigger the best!

Why is this film a must see for everyone, not just children and parents?

It’s a timely reminder to spend time with your family when you have the chance.

Do you have a memorable scene of directing actress Margot Robbie, that she just sparkled in?

I adored working with Margot and particularly like the scene where she first gives the famous toys to Christopher Robin the joy on her face when she hands him Tigger is one of my favorite shots in the film.

What was your method of making the audience see the script as you envision it?

As a director you try to do every scene as well as possible and look forward to shaping it in the editing room.
Which scene was your favorite to direct?

I loved filming the idyllic sequence when father and son play together in the woods. It is the heart of the film and both Domnhall and Will perform it brilliantly.

Make sure you go see Goodbye Christopher Robin October 13, 2017.
