The word Latte comes from Italian and means “coffee with milk”, however, the preparation is what distinguishes this drink, because its process can consider a whole art, it is a preparation based on espresso coffee and steamed milk.
There is a lot of confusion between the preparation of these drinks, but the truth is that all these are very different even if it seems the opposite.
Latte is a drink that carries a lot of technique, and the coffee and milk measurements are different from the others since these are exact and usually it is also considered an art because the baristas manage to draw on this drink. What gives a unique touch to coffee.
First, you need to know is how to do it in an espresso machine. Grinding coffee is the first step, you will need finely ground coffee, this will have a more delicious effect.
Prepare the soya milk, you will need about 170 grams (6 ounces) of milk.
Foam the soya milk: pour the desired amount into a metal jar and dip the vaporizer diagonally in the milk, in this way the necessary foam will be formed to make a good coffee, open the steam outlet by turning the appropriate knob of your espresso machine.
With the help of a thermometer foam the soya milk until it reaches a temperature of 65 and 68 degrees. It is important that you do not exceed 75 degrees since the milk may burn.
Try to foam the soya milk until small bubbles form instead of large bubbles. The foam should be light without reducing the body of the soya milk, or you could use the Keuring Machine.
Measure the amount of coffee for the drink. Each dose of espresso will need a quantity of coffee. Usually, the latte carries double doses of espresso, and each dose of espresso should carry 18 to 20 grams of ground coffee.
Press the coffee, that is, once you have put the ground coffee in the coffee filter holder, compact it with the help of a coffee press.
Prepare the dose of espresso, place the filter holder on the head of the coffee maker so that it is fixed. Press the button to start the coffee maker and start preparing the espresso dose. We recommend that the color of the espresso is a brown color between medium and dark, with very little body, slightly creamy, or foam on the surface but do not take more than 30 seconds to do it, because this will depend on the taste is more bitter or less intense.
Pour the frothed milk over the espresso, the foam will fall gently and mix with the espresso cream, the result should be a creamy brown base with a thin layer of foam on the surface and this is where the time has come to make an artistic set with it.
