Welcome to The Urban Twist assignments page.  Make sure you bookmark (Ctrl+D) this page and refer to it often whenever you may be low on article ideas and topics to write about.  You must be logged in to see the contents of this page.

This is a list of topics that are currently trending at the moment, and may give you some quick ideas on what to write about.  We will update this list daily.  These topics are good for spitting out some quick stories but also can be used for more elaborate pieces.

The link(s) above will take you to a Google Drive folder with more details on the assignment.  There will be an instruction document inside the folder.  Please read that document first to see if the assignment would be something you’d be interested in.

You must be at least an author or an editor to claim these assignments.  To claim these assignments, you must generally be logged in and create a new post.

The post should be empty but in the right-hand column, you should see a column marked “Posts To Do List.”

You then click on the assignment that you want to claim, read the instructions about the assignment, and then click on the “Assign to me” link, then whenever you’re ready to write the post, click the “Write it” link.  Any assignment you claim will now be marked with an asterisk so that you know your claim went through.  You cannot claim more than one assignment at a time unless you’ve been preapproved to do so.
