For those that didn’t get a chance to catch Avatar in 3-D the first go around will now receive their chance come August.
James Cameron is re-releasing Avatar in August exclusively in digital 3-D and Imax 3-D formats. The re-release will include a whopping 8 minutes of additional footage that wasn’t seen in the first film nor in the DVD & Blu-Ray releases.
Since the initial release of ‘Avatar’ back in December, the number of Digital 3-D projectors and screens has exploded, and those who missed the film in 3-D during its first round will have a chance to catch it in the format Cameron intended.
Avatar is the top-grossing movie of all time, having earned over $2.7 billion in worldwide box office. It is also the best-selling Blu-ray disc of all time. It returns to theaters August 27th.
