Kelly is another enigma in the music industry. Everyone knows her name and she’s a superstar…but only when referring to her days as being a member of the girls group Destiny Child, with her cousin Beyonce at the helm of that group.
The reason why Kelly is on this list is because with Beyonce gone, maybe she can get that shine that Beyonce has always taken from her. She’s been trying desperately for years to get her solo career going and every year by all accounts, her efforts failed. No one was really checking for her like maybe they should.
This year seems a little different. With hit releases such as Motivation and Lay it On Me, and also her performance on the BET awards (watch below), Kelly’s been getting more play than ever before. Her popularity is at an all time high. Maybe her cousin stepping down for a little while could be the extra umph that her career needs to finally get to where she wants it to be.
