Tracy Morgan was hospitalized yesterday after collapsing at the Sundance Film Festival. The 30 Rock star was however seen leaving the hospital shortly afterwards with an oxygen tank and breathing tube attached to his nose.
Morgan received an award at Sundance’s Creative Coalition Awards ceremony held in Park City. He fell unconscious shortly afterwards and was rushed to a local hospital via ambulance. Initial reports claimed that the actor had been drunk during the event, but a park City Medical Center spokeswoman explained that there were no foreign substances in Morgan’s system.
Morgan’s representative Lewis Kay explained in a statement, “from a combination of exhaustion and altitude, Tracy is seeking medical attention. He is with his fianceé and grateful to the Park City Medical Center for their care. Any reports of Tracy consuming alcohol are 100% false.” His medical history shows that he suffers from diabetes and had a kidney transplant 2 years ago.
Yesterday Morgan joked about the incident on Twitter writing, “Superman ran into a little kryptonite. The high altitude in Utah shook up this kid from Brooklyn.” Morgan also confirmed that he has recovered from the incident and will resume shooting the hit sitcom 30 Rock today.
