Juicing is the newest health trend craze and people everywhere are raving about the health benefits.

Juicing is the newest health trend craze and people everywhere are raving about the health benefits. We all know that fruits and vegetables are an important part of our diet, but most of us know that we don’t get enough of them. The food pyramid, which was created in 1992 states that we need to have 5-9 fruits and vegetables everyday, and the more recent version adopted by first lady Michelle Obama calls for a fruit AND veggie serving with ALL three meals. Do you get all your fruits and veggie servings in on most days? Six or more servings a day is hard to come by for most of us.

Juicing makes consuming the recommended levels easier. 95% of the nutrients in fruits and veggies are in the juice. One sample recipe might contain 2 apples, 1/2 lemon, 1 cucumber, 2-3 celery stalks, 2-3 long, whole carrots, and 1 inch of ginger root. One glass of juice can easily contain the entire days worth of nutrients. Juicing makes it possible to consume a wider variety of fruits and veggies because the flavors are mixed, masking strong or unpleasant smells and tastes.

Most of us eat the same fruits and vegetables over and over, missing out on a wide variety of import nutrients. The liquid that is created is also easily digested so the nutrients get to the cells very quickly.ard for most of us to consume.

Juicing helps detox the liver, which cleans blood and removes toxins and wastes. Our bodies are exposed to many toxins through our skin, the air we breathe, and the food we ingest. Insecticides, pesticides, and herbicides are in fruits and vegetables, and in many cases the crops have been genetically altered to include these toxins in the DNA make-up of the food, so just washing them well is no longer effective. It is important to buy organic food

It is important to buy organic food when ever possible to eliminate exposure to these dangerous toxins. Seafood often contains dangerous levels of mercury and other toxins. Any food not found in nature generally has some kind of additive or preservative that is toxic to the body. Our packages contain even more toxins with exposure to many industrial chemicals.

Fruits and vegetables provide our bodies with valuable nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and important antioxidants that aid the body in repairing itself and getting rid of toxins and wastes. Some of the health benefits of the nutrients are not fully understood just yet. We know that the body is designed to heal itself and that it was designed to function off of the fruits and veggies that were primarily consumed in the beginning. Over the years we have introduced animal products and man-made products, but we know that these products are much harder on the body to digest, absorb, and eliminate wastes. These animal and man-made products often take the place of valuable fruit and vegetable nutrients in our diets and an increase in many illnesses are thought to be the consequences for this. See this page.
People who juice say they feel amazing, better and younger than they have in years. Juicing has been known to eliminate arthritis, allergies, asthma, obesity, heart disease, and many other ailments. Juicing is even being widely accepted as a cancer treatment with certain fruit and vegetable juices working to kill cancer cells. It also helps reduce the risk of cancer if done earlier because it helps the liver stay healthy and eliminate many cancer causing toxins from the body.
Juicing can be expensive considering the amount of produce that you will need to buy. Most vegetable juices are much sweeter than you would think and the flavors are actually fairly pleasant (this is coming from a VERY picky eater), there are many great recipes online, and with a good juicer the process can take less than five minutes. So if you are sick and tired of being sick and tired then you might just consider giving juicing a try. You can read more here.

I am currently finishing up a bachelors in Marketing from the University of Phoenix. Along with writing/blogging for The Urban Twist, I am also perusing an online marketing career. Recently, while going through some old papers I had written in high school over 20 years ago I got a good laugh, I found a paper on which I wrote about how I was never going to be a writer or anything. My high school teacher replied "you never know". It just goes to show you that you never know where life is going to take you. =) I have 3 boys ages 16, 13, and 12. They keep me busy and on my toes. ;-) but life would be meaningless without them as any parent knows. I love to read a good book (it can almost be an addiction at times). I also love to walk, ride bikes, hike, and watch movies. I like to travel and see new places, although I haven't been too far just yet. I love to spend time with my friends and family, and to try new things. =)
