Jason Russell, Invisible Children filmmaker, was caught walking around in his underwear Thursday afternoon.

The documentary that highlighted Joseph Kony caught the attention of many and had 80 million viewers wanting to do something.

Russell was arrested and placed in a mental facility to be evaluated, which is mandatory for arrest like these in San Diego. A video of this alleged event was spotted on TMZ.com. It is said that Russell was suffering from exhaustion, malnutrition and dehydration.

Ben Keesy, the company’s chief executive officer said “The past two weeks have taken a severe emotional toll on all of us, Jason especially, and that toll manifested itself in an unfortunate incident yesterday.” He then went on to say “Jason’s passion and his work have done so much to help so many, and we are devastated to see him dealing with this personal health issue. We will always love and support Jason, and we ask that you give his entire family privacy during this difficult time.”
