A $363 million Mega Millions lottery jackpot went unclaimed last night as no one could produce the winning numbers 9, 19, 34, 44, 51, and the Mega Ball 24.
And without a winner, the jackpot is expected to skyrocket for Friday’s drawing. The Mega Millions jackpot will grow to an estimated $476 million on Friday night, which will be the largest prize in game history.
Although, it’s more likely that we could see another week go by without a winner. The odds of winning the $476 million jackpot will be about 1 in 176 million.
So that means that come with next week, the jackpot could be well past half a billion dollars.
Still, the odds won’t stop people from buying tickets. Tuesday night’s estimated jackpot of $356 million grew to $363 million due to heavy sales. And as the jackpot gets bigger and bigger, more and more tickets will be sold.
If someone wins Friday night it will be the largest win this year and the largest win in Mega Millions history. The largest win to date came in 2007 when a $370 million prize was given out.
Your odds of winning the jackpot may be slim but there’s a relatively good chance that you’ll win something. There are nine ways to win the Mega Millions. The lottery website says that the chances of winning any prize are 1 in 40.
The jackpots have been growing quickly this year due to a price increase for lottery tickets. A ticket for the Mega Millions jackpot is now $2, which means the Jackpots get twice as big twice as fast.
