(Anaheim, Calif.) If someone said they had a blast at Disneyland, it is usually safe to assume they are referring to how much fun they had at the theme park. However, they have meant it literally on Tuesday.Disneyland was forced to evacuate the Toontown section of the theme park after a trash can exploded Tuesday evening. According to CBS Los Angeles, the blast occurred around 5:30 p.m. It was a small blast, as the Anaheim Police Department said the explosion was “confined” to the trash can.

The theme park closed for two hours. No injuries were reported. Disneyland park officials tweeted, “In an abundance of caution, the area was evacuated. There were no injuries and reported damage.”

The Orange County Sheriff Department’s bomb squad was sent in to investigate. A dry ice bomb caused the explosion. Sgt. Bob Dunn of the Anaheim Police Department told CNN, “Upon initial investigation, it appears it was a plastic bottle with dry ice in it that exploded.”

For one day, the “happiest place in the world” was not so happy. It was a frightening and shocking experience for park guests. Jonathan Rosario, one of the park’s visitors on Tuesday told the Los Angeles Times, “You wouldn’t expect situations like that coming to a place like this. That is crazy, that’s wild.”

Believe it or not, this may not be the first blast in the area. According to KTLA, Anaheim police is still trying to determine whether or not the bombing was intentional. Sgt. Bob Dunn said, “It remained unclear if the explosion was intentionally set off or if it was an accident. These are very common, unfortunately, in our neighborhoods, so we do respond to these quite a bit.”

The Anaheim Police Department is currently reviewing surveillance video and social media posts.
