Willie Robertson, star of “Duck Dynasty”, said the family is ready to continue filming the popular A&E show after the network reversed its decision on the suspension of his dad Phil Robertson for comments he made regarding gay marriage.
Robertson, along with his wife Korie, spoke with Fox News as part of their “All-American New Year” segment. Both said the blood between the family and A&E is just fine and they’re just happy that the show will still go on in 2014.
Robertson said the family is ready to get back to work and making funny shows. It’s a new year, which means we’re ready to start over once again.
A&E suspended Phil Robertson for a little over a week after the controversial comments he made regarding African-Americans and homosexuals during an interview with GQ magazine. Among protests from many of its fans, the network reversed its decision. The latest season premiere had an estimated 11 million people watching.
Robertson said the entire family wants to move forward away from the incident and is pleased by the already-shot episodes for the new season.
He said the family has learned a lot from the experience and is just ready to move past it and film the other episodes.
Korie said she’s happy the whole family will be involved with the show. She said the best part about it is that they get to work together as a family.
Willie Robertson said fans can anticipate even more fun during 2014.
He said the family is thankful for a lot of things in 2013, and want to continue their success into 2014.
