The first thing that most of us do after a bad breakout is run to the drugstore or shop online for that magical potion to clear our skin. As far as facial products, I tried every product you could think of such as “Proactiv”, “Clean & Clear”, “Ambi”, and “Black Soap” just to name a few!

My skin was burned from using Proactiv; Clean & Clear Morning Burst smelled good but did nothing to tame my breakouts; the Ambi foam cleansing soap actually caused more breakouts, and the black soap did nothing significant.

One day I was reading a fitness magazine at work, and I stumbled upon an interview of Gabrielle Union speaking about her beauty secret. She proclaimed that she drank a gallon of water a day. She eliminated coffee and sugary drinks from her diet and had great results. Her skin, hair and nails all improved.

“Water! I started drinking a gallon of water a day in my mid-thirties and some people have called me a vampire or that I’m using embalming fluid, or other crazy things. But honestly, my hair, skin, and nails all changed once I started drinking a gallon of water a day. I’ll add a little lemon to feel fancy, but it’s just important to get the water in. If you can replace sugary drinks, or coffee, with water, you’re still ahead of the game,” she went on to say.

I noticed as each month passed by how much my skin improved. I was reduced to occasional breakouts. The marks left from previous breakouts started to fade away. My complexion became brighter and less dull. The dark circles under my eyes became less visible. I researched dark circles and my findings were that it could be a sign of your kidneys not functioning properly! My blackheads were easier to remove and healed quickly. I was excited that I quickly started seeing these results in a matter of two months.

If you have recently included more water intake in your diet, feel free to leave your testimonials below.
