In a week where Marvel unveiled their first look at Captain America: Civil War, DC and Warner Bros certainly weren’t going to sit down and enjoy their rivals take all the plaudits, and in doing so have unleashed a brand new trailer for next year’s hugely anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice.
Already criticised from some corners for its overt use of a much darker, more serious tone, the new trailer for Zack Snyder’s epic smackdown actually features its fair share of lighter-hearted moments, with some fun dialogue from Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor, as well as some brilliant wordplay between leading men Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) and Clark Kent (Henry Cavill).
But nothing prepares us for the conclusion of the trailer – which features a whole host of new footage – as none other than Superman nemesis Doomsday smashes his way onto the screen following what looks to be an experiment from Luthor himself. Crashing the Bats versus Supes party, it only takes one person to throw her hat into the ring and save these boys – Wonder Woman!
It’s a trailer littered with surprises, possibly some over-exertion in its revealing of the happenings within the film, but somewhat exciting nonetheless.
Check out the new trailer and you can read the synopsis for the film below.
Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs.
