A report on RawStory reveals that 24-year-old Andrew Bowman shot his 2-year-old niece in the face with a .45 caliber handgun while he was cleaning it on Christmas morning.
Andrew supposedly received a gun cleaning kit for Christmas and he just couldn’t wait to break it out and make his gun all shiny and new. He forgot to unload his weapon first, and somehow his niece got shot.
The girl was taken to a Portland hospital where she underwent surgery and is expected to make a full recovery.
Police say there will be no criminal charges filed against uncle Andrew…unfortunately, and that this was just an accident.
