Ave Emi and producer, Davey Boy, are trying their hand at “trapsoul” in the EP, Faux Hearts.

The genre, which was coined by Bryson Tiller, combines elements of trap and smooth R&B. The 6-track EP is lead by the single, “Bad Only.”

The track celebrates “bad” women aka highly attractive ladies. In it, he says only the bad women can “sit with us.” (Shoutout to Mean Girls)

“In the post era of video vixens, Ave Emi admires those who are not only externally beautiful, but the erudite and entrepreneurial women as well,” read the SoundCloud page for the song.

Hailing from Denver, Colorado, Emi is certainly representing for the city which hasn’t seen a big musician come from it in awhile.
