She set the bar at a new height in gymnastics, you know her, Simone Biles. Although Olympics aren’t over yet, this superstar athlete already has crowd talking about the 2020 Olympic games in Tokyo. Will Simone Biles return for Olympic Games 2020? Her fans are ready for her to return and see this four-time Olympic gold medalist compete in 2020 Olympic games, but she isn’t quite ready to start thinking far ahead just yet.
Aly Raisman, Bile’s teammate, has said that she’s “definitely thinking about trying for the next Olympic Games”. But Biles isn’t certain about it based on Today New’s interview with her. When Matt Lauer asked her about it, she answered, “I don’t know. That’s a really long ways away.” According to Yahoo News, Biles has yet to discuss with her family if she’s going to compete in Tokyo at the 2020 Games or not.
Biles is expected to compete in Tokyo after the amazing Olympic Games wrap up in Brazil, but there’s no guarantee. Biles is currently 19 years old and she is slightly older than the historic average for female U.S Olympic gymnastics. Which is reported around 16 years old. By the 2020 Games she’ll be 23. But that doesn’t mean she’ll be too old to compete.
It will be interested to see what’s going to happen by the 2020 Games. We’re all hoping that she’ll compete in Tokyo, but there’s a long time before 2020. As of right now Biles is enjoying the moment in Rio and said she wants to enjoy it a little bit longer. Which is not surprising, spending two weeks in Rio sounds like a good time.
Let’s just hope she doesn’t get any injuries by 2020 and decides to compete in Tokyo. No matter what, we’re gonna continue supporting and loving her. But let’s be honest, we all want to see that flip, leap and twist that got her gold medals again.
