The Little Mermaid is one of my favorite Disney movies and I use to sing along to the soundtrack while playing with my dolls in the bathtub all the time as a child, but now as an adult, I often wonder what would Ariel sing of about the world she so wanted to be a part of.
Not as a wide-eyed innocent child, but as a well-rounded cautious adult who sees all the evil and wants to put more goodness in this world!
So here is my take on the rendition of that song ‘Part of Your World‘, let me know what you think?
Look at society
Isn’t it neat?
Wouldn’t you think humanity would be complete?
Wouldn’t you think their the globe
The union that has ev’rything?
Look at this world
Treasures untold
How many wonders can one universe hold?
Lookin’ around here you’d think
(Sure) they got everything
They’ve got hatred and enmity aplenty
They’ve got hostility and animosity galore
(You want conflict?
I know twenty)
But who cares?
No big deal
It’s called war
I want to be where the peaceful are
I want to see
want to see ’em placid
Poised around on those
(Whad’ya call ’em?) oh – idyllics
Desiring your dreams you don’t get too far
Persistence are required for accomplishments, attainment
Struggling’ along down a
(What’s that word again?) obstacle
As some harass
As some shame
As some protect others from mean cruel things everyday
Negative free
Working to delete
Hurt as a part of this world
What would I give
If I could live
Outta these fatalities?
What would I pay
To spend a day
Oblivious to reality
Babies understand
They don’t hate or conspire
Bright young children
Strained
Ready to stand
And ready to know what the people know
Ask ’em my questions
And get some answers
What’s Heaven and why does it
(What’s the word?) not exist?
When’s it my turn?
Wouldn’t I love
Love to rid the world of harm?
Out of my dreams
I’m going to make peace
Part of that world
