Donald Trump supporters are showing just how they plan to make America great again, with violent, hateful physical and verbal attacks on minorities across the nation. You know, the good old scare tactics, public degradation and of course, a good old beating when possible.
Since Donald Trump was elected to be the next president of the United States, his supporters, angry white men especially have been extremely bold in their disdain for people not like themselves. Below I will highlight just three recent horrendous events where an admitted Donald Trump supporter either physically or severely verbally assaulted someone in the name of their incoming president.
On Wednesday, November 9, 2016, the day after Donald Trump won the election, Kara Stevens was attacked in Oregon. Stevens, a Black woman, was walking home from Safeway when she was attacked by a group of 3 white males. Walking through the parking lot of the market Kara felt a pain in her stomach and realized she had been hit with a brick.
“I just thought to myself, if I pass out from not being able to breathe and I hit the ground, it’s over,” Stevens told reporters.
“I heard someone yell ‘Stupid n***** b****,’” Kara told local television network, KOIN. “Then they yelled ‘Are you scared? Are you scared now? Because you should be,’ and then they said ‘Now we got a president who finally feels how we feel,’” the traumatized woman told her story with strength.
After continuing to taunt her a while longer while threatening to rape her the men got in the car and left. Kara Stevens was left with broken ribs. The Safeway where Stevens was attacked has no security cameras in the parking lot. Local police say they hope to “get to the bottom” of the situation per reports.
On Saturday, November 12 a Brooklyn woman was attacked in a popular local French restaurant, Bar Tabac, by a male Donald Trump supporter. An unidentified 49-year-old woman was having dinner and drinks with a friend. The two lamented about Donald Trump and his campaign win.
A man at a nearby table was angry the women bemoaned Trump’s win. He started an argument with the women before asking the manager to throw them out. Instead, the manager moved the man and his dining companions to another table. The man finished his dinner, paid and left.
He immediately returned however, running into the restaurant and sucker punching the woman in her face. Restaurant manager, Jonas Leon recalls the incident. “The guy came back almost running, and he started pushing some customer and the high-chair next to him with the baby because he couldn’t reach the girl,” Leon said. “Then he punched the girl.”
The restaurant posted a statement to social media after the assault.
We at Bar Tabac do not condone violence of any type or manner, especially in our own establishment; to the tough guy who assaulted a female patron of ours on Saturday night over a political conversation: Once the law is done with you, do not come back to Bar Tabac (this includes your partner). At a point in this nation when tensions are highest we need to come together now more than ever, we apologize to any customers who had to witness this vulgar outburst.
Wednesday November 15, video surfaced of David Sanguesa in a Miami, Florida Starbucks berating a barista with Trump’s win and calling her garbage. Somehow the employee managed to maintain her composure as other customers fought for her respect and dignity.
The man was irate that his order was taking too long and claimed “anti-white discrimination.” After demanding his money back, he started screaming “Trump, Trump” at the poor woman, telling her “You lost, give me my money back.”
“What is your name?” he asked. “What is your name? I want your card. You are garbage. You are complete trash,” Sanguesa continued to verbally assault the employee. When another person tried to intervene, telling Sanguesa “Come on. There’s no need to talk like that. You want to talk like that, take it outside. But do not talk to other people that way.” The Irate Sanguesa turned his rage on them, almost coming to blows.
David Seguesa, as many white males do when caught dead wrong, claims he has a mental illness and he didn’t take his medicine that day. He also has apologized, not that it matters much. There is no apology for bigotry. The man told reporters he felt the barista didn’t want to serve him because of the Trump sticker on his truck.
“They refused to serve me coffee and it was very upsetting, we waited and waited and waited and had to call the, look for the manager to help us, and the lady I was with saying this is racism, discrimination, it just got out of control, she just refused to serve us coffee,” Sanguesa told a local reporter. “It was very upsetting, and we didn’t get our money back, it escalated, I got upset, shouldn’t have got upset, I’m very sorry about that but that’s it, just a ridiculous thing that happened at Starbucks.”
Starbucks released a statement
“Embracing diversity and treating each other with respect and dignity is core to Starbucks values and something our partners take great pride in showing,” Starbucks said in a statement. “We are committed to providing an inclusive, supportive and safe work environment for everyone.”
What’s that slogan everyone’s talking about..oh yeas “make America hate again.” President elect Trump seems to have accomplished the job.
