Currently starring in the 2017 scheduled release featured title The Tribes of Palos Verdes which focuses on the lives of two teenagers who move to Palos Verdes, an affluent suburb of Los Angeles. Their mother (Jennifer Garner) teeters on the brink of a nervous breakdown, while their father becomes a surgeon to the stars. One of the teenagers, Medina, turns to surfing to escape her troubled home life.
Natalie plays Gina, a member of the tennis club that their mother dislikes. The film, also stars Alicia Silverstone and Elisabeth Rohm.
Natalie Loren Kwatinetz was born in Liverpool, England, to an English mother and Mauritian father. From an very early age Natalie was captivated by American films, which ultimately inspired her to pursue acting. Her striking good looks landing her modeling opportunities and she was soon discovered by Britain’s prolific fashion photographer Bob Carlos Clarke who used her as a featured muse in his exhibition and book titled Living Dolls.
You are originally from Liverpool, England. What do you love the most about the UK?
I love the culture, music and art! There’s really nowhere quite like England.
What drew you to script ‘The Tribes of Palos Verdes’? What do you love the most about your character, Gina?
I just loved the script when I first read it! It was originally a book. Gina is one of the tennis ladies at the club who annoys Jennifer Garner’s character.
What was it like working with Jennifer Garner?
I had a couple of scenes with Jennifer; she is such a great actress! She’s also very sweet and stunning. I loved her character in the film too.
As a featured muse in Bob Carlos Clarke’s exhibition and book titled “Living Dolls”, what advice can you give to people to help them see the beauty in themselves?
I loved working with Bob; he truly inspired me with his creativity and passion. As for advice, I would say be an individual. Try and really show yourself instead of following trends.
You practice martial arts. What does this exercise provide that you can’t get from other physical activities?
I’m obsessed with martial arts! I love the way it looks and makes you feel; it’s like dance, it gives you an inner strength that I don’t get from the gym.
What current TV show would you love to appear on and why?
I’m sure a lot of people would have the same answer right now, but I just watched the show “Stranger Things”! It’s so great; I would love to play a character in it. I love the supernatural element and the whole 80s vibe. I’m obsessed with the opening music too; it’s awesome!
Do you find it weird to watch yourself on screen? If so, how do you deal with it?
Ha! Yes, I hate it! I really try to avoid it if it’s possible.
Outside of acting, what else would you enjoying doing as a profession and why?
I would go to art school. I love to paint, so it’s definitely something I would love to explore more.
