J. Cole put North Carolina back on the map and now KASH might be the next North Carolinian to make it to the top of the rap game.
The young rhymer, who hails from Ayden, N.C., just dropped the latest video in a series, “Feel Like.” In the track, the Southern rapper talks about feeling alone and the prospects of his girl leaving him if he were ever to go to jail.
“If I caught up would you ride for me / Baby keep it real please don’t lie to be / I know you say but you probably won’t / You won’t waste no time, you gon’ move on,” he raps. But he admits that he would “still f— with you anyways” cause he knows she’ll still have “love for me.”
The Good Crucial-directed video shows KASH in several places around his hometown including a rooftop that sits against the backdrop of a water tower and a baseball field.
The track is hardly groundbreaking but it’s worth at least one listen. As for KASH, he’s still got a long way to go to make it to the top. But he’s got a good attitude about creating music so far.
“I like listening to all genres of music. Good music is good music. I love making music. It’s a way to express myself. It’s like therapy. I feel like music puts everyone in a good place.” says KASH.
