Bad Boys and Bad Boys II, starring Martin Lawrence and Will Smith, became instant classics following their releases. With the last film dropping 14 years ago fans have been heavily anticipating a third film to complete the trilogy.
At one point it seemed like the film was a go, but now Martin Lawrence is speaking out about the fate of the film.
According to Entertainment Weekly, over the past few months, the film has lost its director and release date.
Now, Martin is unsure if the film will ever happen.
Lawrence said, “I don’t think we’re going to get one, not the way everything’s turning out. Will is off doing another movie, and I don’t think it’s going to happen.”
He also added, “I’m there, I’m ready right now. If they wanted to do it, I’m ready, but I don’t have control of that. That’s the studio’s decision.”
Last year Will Smith teased the film and said they were “very, very, very close,” and talked about his time working with Lawrence and said, “I love that dude. That’s among the best times I’ve ever had making movies. So I’m looking forward to it.”
