Six officers went to a home on 7th Street after responding to a robbery that took place on the 2200 block of 10th Street on Friday, August 25. It was there that they found three suspects believed to have committed the crime.
Anthony Criss, 18, Matthew Allen, 18, and 17-year-old Xavier McMullen were reportedly cuffed and placed into three different squad cars while police investigated the scene. At around 11 p.m. the sound of a single gunshot suddenly blasted from one of the vehicles, prompting the officers to rush over, where McMullen was found with a wound to the head and a .45 resting by his side.
Foul play by the officers so far hasn’t been suspected in relation to the incident, but there have been questions as to why McMullen wasn’t searched prior to being detained.
