While the Grammy Awards always catch a lot of flak for being out of touch and then getting it wrong, the numbers suggest that the awards are influential, at least in terms of sales.

Major nominees, including Childish Gambino, Bruno Mars, and Kendrick Lamar all saw sales boosts following the show on Sunday, according to Billboard.

Specifically, download sales of Louis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s hit “Despacito” increased 263 percent.

Logic, who had one the more memorable speeches of the night at the tail end of his performance, saw numbers for his song, “1-800-273-8355” with Alessia Cara and Khalid increase by 450 percent. Kesha’s “Praying” sales increased by 720 percent.

Kendrick Lamar, who opened the show with a dope performance, saw a sales increase for DAMN., which experienced a 92 percent rise. His song, “Humble” saw a 71 percent increase in sales, according to Complex. Sales for his Rihanna assisted, Grammy-winning song “Loyalty” rose by 273 percent.

Sales for Bruno Mars’s 24K Magic increased by 157 percent, while the title track and “That’s What I Like” rose 176 and 186 percent respectively.

Overall, the songs performed at the 60th Annual Grammys saw a 328 percent gain in download sales, according to Billboard.

Say what you will about the Grammys being completely out of touch but the sales numbers suggest there’s at least some merit, even if superficially, to the show.
