In an effort to contact the King of Wakanda, a fan took an unusual route to garner the attention of the star.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the young fan wrote a letter to Chadwick Boseman in the language spoken by the hero and his home kingdom. It did not take long for the photo of the young man with a letter written in the Wakandan language to make it rounds on social media.
Boseman went on to say, “How cool is it that Hannah Beachler created an incredible alphabet for #BlackPanther and now I’m getting fan mail like this?” under a repost of the picture on his Instagram “Thanks for letting me know you’re my biggest fan, Ben. You’re awesome and your letter means a lot to me.”
What did the letter say you ask? Here is the translation.
“Dear Black Panther my name is Ben,” it read. “I am your biggest fan. Could you please write back.”
Beachler, who created the language using a combination of alphabets from languages such as Chinese, and Arabic, won an Oscar for her work. There are reportedly websites where you can recreate your own message in Wakandan.
Wakanda FOREVER!
