Starting your own business can be a daunting task… we’re here to make the journey a little easier.
Today’s discussion is about Investing in yourself, arguably one of the most important aspects of entrepreneurship.
When you work for a company, they provide you with training, mentorship typically in the form of your manager & fellow employees and all types of help.
When you’re an entrepreneur, all of the onus is on you! Training is not provided, coaches aren’t free and mentors need to be sought out. Is there free training available? Absolutely! It’s on a beautiful tool called the World Wide Web! Google will become your best friend as an entrepreneur.
Sometimes though, it can be difficult to even know what to search for and you don’t have anyone guiding your journey, unfortunately.
This is why investing in yourself is so important! Entrepreneurship takes time, it’s like being an artist. You have to perfect your craft and it’s all on you to be a Picasso or a noodle art that didn’t quite make it to being fridge worthy!
Let’s take a look at some of the go-to tools that can help you invest in yourself and create an easier journey.
Google – The #1 search engine!
Khan Academy – A free learning tool from a 501c3 non-profit that is on a mission to provide a free world-class education for everyone.
Reddit – This is an often overlooked tool for entrepreneurs, with sub-reddits such as R/entrepreneur, R/Entrepreneurship and many many more it is an invaluable tool to learn and ask questions.
Facebook Groups – I myself am apart of over 50 business facebook groups, including as an admin and my own facebook group Funding Businesses W/Brandon Brooks (shameless plug).
These groups are filled with entrepreneurs just like yourself and some that have seen a lot of success! I highly encourage you to be interactive in these groups. Sorry to inform you, no one likes a spammer. So if you’re spamming your links in groups, chances are you’ll have a bad experience. Share your expertise, ask questions and if all else fails just sit back and learn from the experts.
These are just a few of the best tools you can utilize to make your journey that much easier and Invest in Yourself.
Good luck entrepreneurs, make sure to share these articles with your friends and fellow entrepreneurs… it may be the boost they need to succeed.
