Life is a b**ch, love is a game

Sometimes people change when they get some fame

Sometimes people go their own separate ways

L is a B but I’m not naming names

These thought provoking lyrics stem from the soul of none other than the bold, yet breezy Melanie Iglesias! With her perfect combination of class and sass, the YouTube influencer, model, actress, producer and recording artist is poised to open countless eyes and ears with her audacious new single, “L is a B”.

Released on December 27, 2019, “L is a B” discusses mental health in the influencer world. Additionally, it describes what is feels like when someone we’re close to experiences fame, and consequently chooses to use what we told them against us. Lyrics such as, She was a bad b**ch, calls herself a savage, she said she loved me just to elevate her status, chronicle Melanie’s struggle with those who were once close with her both personally and professionally. The catchy tune, along with its groovy, yet savory Pop/R&B production, details how these individuals unexpectedly turned against her despite having ties that were once close, and years of collaboration. The depression that she has experienced as a result, provides a clear perspective into how unethical the entertainment business can really be.

Ultimately, “L is a B” melodically captures Melanie’s anger; as well as, her acceptance of coping with the mental pressures that comes with being in the public eye. After being voted Maxim’s “Hometown Hotties” winner in 2010, Melanie went on to be featured in a plethora of magazines; such as, Esquire, Vibe, and World’s Most Beautiful. She also scored the special edition cover of Maxim USA. After appearing on three seasons of MTV’s Guy Code as well as the spin off series Girl Code, Melanie soon flexed her acting chops on other popular shows including Tosh.O and Orange is the New Black. She also scored a guest DJ spot on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

With her extensive entertainment resume, its no surprise that Melanie soon wanted to explore her musical talents. Returning to music from a forced break due to vocal nodules, Melanie Iglesias is the perfect example of the perseverance it takes to survive in this turbulent entertainment industry. As a result, “L is a B” may certainly become a staple on many 2020 playlists. Look for Melanie’s highly anticipated album set for release early this year.
