An 86-year-old woman has died after being shoved by another patient at a New York hospital because she was allegedly “not social distancing.”
The elderly woman was reportedly shoved by an unidentified female patient in NYC Health and Hospitals/Woodhull in Brooklyn around 2pm.
According to the New York Post, the woman fell and hit her head. She sadly passed away three hours later at 5pm as healthcare workers were waiting for the results of her CT scan.
The female attacker was punished with a summons for disorderly conduct.
“She got too close,” the woman allegedly told others in order to explain her actions.
Tensions are at an all-time high after the US became the global epicenter of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, as it surpassed China and Italy with the most confirmed cases.
Johns Hopkins University reported that the United States has at least 83, 507 confirmed cases, with at least 1,201 deaths, 259 as of today (Mar 26). Recoveries clock in around 1,864.
