Social media recently erupted when a viral video was released showing an Amazon delivery driver allegedly spitting on a customer’s package and smearing it around. Fast forward a few days later, and that Amazon delivery driver has officially been fired by the company for his disgusting behavior.

Due to the current coronavirus outbreak, people are hyper-sensitive regarding germs, which is why many were outraged at the footage of an Amazon delivery driver deliberately spitting on a customer’s package caused such a major uproar.

Just days after the video footage went viral, the unidentified delivery driver has since been fired for his actions. Although he is not a direct employee of Amazon because he delivers via third party affiliate, he is still associated with the company because it is merchandise of its online marketplace that he was delivering.

As we previously reported, an Amazon customer service representative stated that they were horrified by the video and revealed that the man was immediately reported.

Following the incident, a spokesperson for Amazon had this to say:“We have high standards for delivery service partners and expect every package to be handled with care. We’ve notified the right teams internally and will work with the customer directly on matters related to their package delivery.”

Amazon has also threatened the man with potential legal action, but it’s unclear if law enforcement is currently involved.
