A couple who had been married for over 50 years, spent their last moments together holding hands as they both sadly passed away from the Coronavirus.
The Mississippi couple is reported to have died just minutes apart after they initially contracted the virus on a cruise ship. Jerry Austin Williamson and Frances Jewel Bond Williamson, 72 were happily married for over 50 years and went on numerous cruises, so it wasn’t a surprise that they had gotten sick, however, things soon took a turn for the worse.
North Long Beach Baptist Church Pastor Rick Clark revealed the news during the Livestream of the couple’s funeral.
“They were on cruises a lot,” Clark said. “If I’m not mistaken, it seems like every time they would come off a cruise, they’d be sick. But then when we found out that Ms. Frances had gone on a ventilator … Jerry called me right after that happened and you could tell the tears in his eyes. He was scared to death.”
According to Fox News. Jerry was soon put on a ventilator too. They had both tested positive for COVID-19 and ended up at the Memorial Hospital in Gulfport. They were pronounced dead jus six minutes apart from each other, while they were still holding hands.
They are survived by their two children, eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
