Coronavirus cases continue to grow across the U.S despite some states reopening businesses.
According to Johns Hopkins University, as of Saturday morning, the death toll in the United States topped 65,000 Saturday morning, and there are at least 1,106,373 reported cases in the country.
Across all 50 states and territories, the death toll is currently 65,173. Worldwide there have been at least 3,369,208 reported cases of COVI-19, with at least 239,448 deaths.
As we reported, the coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks, however, for others with underlying health conditions, the virus is much more severe and can lead to pneumonia and even death. Studies have shown that most people recover after contracting the virus, but must self-isolate after testing positive.
Across the country, many people have been protesting for their states to reopen, especially in California as people fight to reopen the beaches amidst the scorching weather.
