Journalist Gets Fired For Pretending To Board Up Vandalized Business For Photo

The journalist deleted her social media accounts after the video went viral. But, it didn’t stop there


A woman in a video went viral this week, to which turns out she was a journalist and has since been fired. She was pretending to board up a vandalized business in Santa Monica, CA for an Instagram photo op.

Identified as Washington Examiner reporter Fiona Moriarty-McLaughlin, posed for a photo while holding a drill against planks of wood. After the photo is taken, she hands the drill over to the actual worker and drives off with a friend in a Mercedes SUV.


The journalist deleted her social media accounts after the video went viral. But, it didn’t stop there. McLaughlin has now been fired from the Washington Examiner


The video of the reporter even spawned backlash from Ava DuVernay, who said “You know what? I’m… I think I’m gonna put Twitter away for a few minutes before I throw this phone across the room.,” followed by Pink, who said, “What is wrong with these entitled assholes?! Who the fuck are you and who are your parents you horrible person. How can anyone defend this???!!!”
