At the recent 2020 Billboard Music Awards, Kanye West had a very big night.
He was one of the night’s biggest winners safeguarding four awards in the Christian category. Kanye took to his Twitter account to celebrate his success and posted a tweet accompanied with a video to thank Billboard and also his fans.
Kanye’s record-breaking album “Jesus Is King” took home four Billboard Awards for in the following Christian categories: Top Gospel Artist, Top Christian Album, Top Gospel Album, and Top Gospel Song.
Legendary gospel artist Kirk Franklin is beaten by Ye in some of those categories, so it’s clear that his album was extremely successful to beat those who have been in gospel music for years.
Additionally, there have been rumors that Kanye is working on a “Jesus Is King” sequel with Dr. Dre, but we’ll have to wait on more information about that.
After he swept the Billboard Awards, Kanye headed to Twitter to properly thank everyone involved for his win, writing:
“Thank God for the favor the increase and these YEEZY SLIIIIIIIDZZZZ. Thank Billboard awards for the 9 nominations and 4 wins. Invite me next time and I’ll pull up.”
The tweet also threw a little shade at Billboard since Ye suggested that his invitation to the show may have been lost in the mail, which clearly left a bad taste in his mouth, but he ended up winning so we guess it’s all good.
