Security camera video of Quavo and Saweetie arguing in an elevator emerged in late March, prompting an LAPD inquiry. According to reports, neither rapper will face criminal charges: According to TMZ, the case was appealed to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, which refused to press charges because there was “no chance of a conviction for either side” based on the surveillance footage.
Both rappers previously addressed the incident, releasing statements on the same day to TMZ. “This unfortunate event occurred a year ago, and while we have since reconciled and moved past this particular dispute, there were simply too many other obstacles to resolve in our relationship, and we have both since moved on,” Saweetie told the publication. “We had an unpleasant experience almost a year ago that we all learned and moved on from,” Quavo said in a statement released hours later. I haven’t physically hurt Saweetie and am grateful for all we’ve shared so far.”
Saweetie, on the other hand, has been concentrating on her education. She’s looking for self-improvement in particular, as she revealed to Apple Music that she’ll be attending an artist growth boot camp. She said, “For me, I’m gonna focus on what I struggle with. I struggle with breathing control, I’m gonna work on my dance moves, my details, all that good stuff, my body, my stamina, everything.”
