Drake announced the release of his own line of scented candles for the holidays a few months ago, and with Mother’s Day approaching, it appears that he’s decided to give fans another chance to get some. He’s also sweetening the pot by giving his fellow Canadians the chance to get the candles for free when they use Uber Eats or Postmates to order from their favorite restaurants.
Better World Fragrance House sent a limited number of candles to a select group of Toronto and Vancouver restaurants, and customers who order $50 or more in food will receive a free candle as long as supplies last from May 7 to 9. Drake also teased the brand’s “first fragrance collection,” which is set to drop on May 9.
Carby Musk, Good Thoughts, Muskoka, Sweeter Tings, and Williamsburg Sleepover were the first five scents released, all inspired by Drake’s day-to-day activities, with Carby Musk allegedly smelling like Drake himself. The candles were quickly sold out on Revolve, and the star sent some to his buddies, including Toronto Raptors players.
Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time that a delivery service has partnered with an artist. Last year, Postmates became the home of Wiz Khalifa’s delivery-only restaurant HotBox By Wiz, and Uber Eats previously served Migos-themed meals from Popeyes.Even DoorDash got in some hip-hop love, albeit indirectly; Providence, Rhode Island rapper Brendan Rush went viral earlier this week when a driver included his Spotify info with deliveries and a fan tweeted about it.
