If you’re the kind of music fan who reads liner notes and stalks songwriters, it’ll come as no surprise that big names like Skrillex and Four Tet want to collaborate with Starrah on a new project. The songwriter is best known for his collaborations with Travis Scott (though there was some drama there) and Diplo, as well as major artists like Katy Perry, Drake, The Weeknd, and Rihanna, so it’s no surprise that Skrillex is highlighting his partnership with Starrah in his first new music since 2019.
The new track “Butterflies” is a glitchy track with her vocals strewn throughout, and it might herald the start of a new age for the mega producer. Even as he grew to become one of the biggest names in electronic music, Sonny Moore, the artist, never forgot his roots. He also went so far as to reunite with his original emo band, First To Last, in 2018, releasing a new song with them and showing that despite the money and success, he remains true to his roots.
