Nicki Minaj Assists Up-And-Coming Artist Coi Leray In Repairing Her Crown

Nicki Minaj recognized the young artist's dissatisfaction and advised her to ignore the trolls and keep striving.

Nicki Minaj, a veteran of the hip-hop scene, rushed to Twitter to encourage budding female rapper Coi Leray and, in the process, helped her repair her crown. On Saturday, May 29, Coi Leray, Benzino’s daughter, performed at the H-Town Memorial Day Mayhem event at the Toyota Center in Houston. Needless to say, the audience was unmoved. A viral video showing an indifferent audience, as well as a few nasty comments about her act, forced the young rapper to second-guess herself.

“The love use to outweigh the hate but now the hate outweigh the love and it’s slowing destroying me. Y’all haters are in my life for a reason, we gon have to just deal with each other. In with whatever smoke,” the “No More Parties” rapper expressed.

Nicki Minaj recognized the young artist’s dissatisfaction and advised her to ignore the trolls and keep striving.

“Don’t do that. Chin up. Always remember this, when black ppl not fkn w|you #TheyWillBoo. Those ppl were on their feet. That means they may not have known the song, but they were interested in getting to know more— so they were observing u. Charge it to the game & move on,” Nicki advised Coi Leray.

The remarks seemed to be just what the young artist needed to hear, and she soon put her sadness and self-pity behind her.

“Thank you so much for this. This means everything and more to me. Wow. I’m speechless. You just gave me so much more hope. Thank you again,” Coi Leray responded back on Twitter.

Polo G, a Chicago rapper who is currently topping the charts with his recent hit “Rapstar,” also wished the emerging MC well.

“That’s always how it b when u 1st come in Compared to when u really blow u gotta block that s–t out & keep goin crazy u got it,” Polo G added to the rapper’s comments under her tweet.
