Ludacris is gearing up for the release of Fast & Furious 9, his next box office smash. The film will be released on June 25, and he has just been cast with Queen Latifah, another rapper-turned-actor, in the upcoming Netflix drama End of the Road. Beau Bridges will also appear in the film with the two rappers.
While the characters of Ludacris and Bridges are yet to be disclosed, Queen Latifah will play Brenda, a distraught single mother. According to The Hollywood Reporter’s synopsis, “Brenda, who embarks on a cross-country trek with her family to establish a new life after losing her job and being recently widowed.” They must learn to fight back when they become the targets of a strange assassin in the New Mexico desert, cut off from help.”
The new film reunites Ludacris and Bridges, who previously appeared together in Mark Wahlberg’s action film Max Payne in 2008.
Discovery+ has ordered three more one-hour episodes of “Luda Can’t Cook” in related news. The original one-off program was made available for streaming. Will Packer was one of the executive producers on Feb. 25. The “What’s Your Fantasy” rapper acknowledges he has no experience in the kitchen on the show, but is given a Master Class by James Beard Award-nominated chef Meherwan Irani. The rapper learned how to create Indian cuisine delicacies during the one-hour Discovery+ event, which concluded with him entertaining a room of VIPs, including his mother Roberta Bridges.
As Luda continues to learn how to burn, future specials will explore a range of cuisines and cooking techniques from around the world.
“I had an amazing experience the first time around and went from being clueless in the kitchen to making some delicious dishes. I’m excited to team up again with discovery+ and Will to master all different kinds of cuisine so I can impress my wife, mom and kids with my new skills,” Luda told The Wrap.
Ludacris has also teamed up with Netflix for a new animated series called “Karma’s World,” which is based on his oldest daughter Karma and will premiere this winter on the streaming service.
