On Friday evening, the second-round clash between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Atlanta Hawks will be played in Georgia. The series is tied at 1-1, with Game 3 posing a pivotal moment in the best-of-seven matchup. Atlanta won Game 1 with Trae Young’s spectacular performance, while Philadelphia found some defensive answers and relied on Joel Embiid in a comfortable Game 2 victory.
Despite the fact that Embiid is listed as questionable for Game 3 due to a knee injury, he has been the series’ greatest player. Embiid, an All-NBA center, has won an individual matchup against Clint Capela, averaging 79 points and 22 rebounds in two games despite the Hawks putting double teams at him. The remainder of Philadelphia’s offense hasn’t been spectacular, but the 76ers found their stride in the first half of Game 2 with Tobias Harris attacking the hoop and the Hawks’ transition defense faltering.
Due to a meniscus injury, Atlanta will be without De’Andre Hunter for the remainder of the season. Hunter did not participate in the first two games, but his absence was noted, as the Hawks appeared to be missing a huge wing when facing Harris and Ben Simmons. Still, Young has a lot of offensive potentials, and Atlanta has a lot of shooters. In reserve duty during Game 2, Kevin Huerter and Danilo Gallinari provided a significant punch, and they could be X-factors in Game 3 and beyond.
In terms of betting, Game 2 went Under the total of 225.5 points, and Philadelphia covered the 6.5-point closing point spread as a favorite.
