On Saturday night, the D.C. club was filled with patrons when an awful turn of events occurred. Video evidence has surfaced of bar security pulling a young woman down the bar’s stairs, and management has stated that the event would be thoroughly investigated. Keisha Young, 22, is the lady seen being dragged out the pub, according to WUSA9. She claimed it was a case of mistaken identity.
Security was looking for someone else who allegedly attempted to bring a bottle of alcohol into the bar, and she was “caught up” in the altercation, according to Keisha. Nellies issued an Instagram comment after video of the event and ensuing protests went viral, stating the event was sad and unsettling to witness. The tweet stated, “We were really horrified and horrified to observe the sad situation that occurred at Nellie’s last night.” “We’re doing a thorough inquiry into the incident. We strive to create an inclusive and safe atmosphere at Nellie’s, therefore incidents like these are utterly unacceptable.”
The unsettling video shows men coming to Keisha’s aid shortly after security gets her down the stairs. The very next day, crowds began to gather outside of Nellie’s calling for the bar to be shut down.
