Amorphous has had a fantastic year. The viral producer is seeing his career take off, working with some of the industry’s biggest names, after years of uploading DJ mash-ups of hit music from the present and the past. During a studio session with Brandy and James Fauntleroy, he had his most recent big moment. The latter greeted the successful producer at the door, but it appears that it was his introduction to Brandy that made the biggest impression on him.
This major event happened not long after Amorphous and Kehlani collaborated for the first time on “Back Together.” The song is a summertime hymn about refusing to commit to previous partners. During an interview with Uproxx, he also discussed recording the song with the vocalist. He admitted, “I was really scared going in.” “I mean, it’s Kehlani, and this is my first major studio session,” she says. I’ve been in the studio both alone and with friends. However, I felt a lot of pressure because I was working with a big recording artist.”
Prior to that, Amorphous provided the production for Fat Joe and Diddy’s “Sunshine (The Light),” which sampled Rihanna’s “Kiss It Better” and “Luther Vandross’ “Never Too Much.”
