Following the release of the documentary Framing Britney Spears, the pop singer’s conservatorship struggle with her father James Spears drew increased public attention, with many admirers hoping that she would be released from the court-ordered arrangement. While fans hope that she eventually wins the case, they also hope to see Brintey back onstage in the near future. According to Billboard, the singer responded to the question during an Instagram Live session.
“Will you ever take the stage again?” a fan questioned Brintey in the comments section of the webcast. “I have no idea,” the singer replied, adding, “I’m having fun right now, I’m in a change in my life, and I’m enjoying myself.”
Her response comes six months after her lawyer, Samuel D. Ingham III, stated that the singer “would not perform again” out of fear of her father, James Spears, who has been in charge of Brintey’s conservatorship for the past 12 years.
Britney will have the opportunity to appear to the court next week, on Wednesday, where she will be able to discuss her future plans for performing as well as clarify her feelings regarding the conservatorship. She recently expressed her displeasure with it, saying, “I felt humiliated by the light they put me in… For two weeks, I cried.”
