Tate McRae was dubbed one of the year’s rising pop sensations to watch as the year began, and boy has she delivered. Starting with her Too Young To Be Sad EP in March, McRae has since released a collaboration with Troye Sivan called “You,” as well as a dark new ballad for Amazon’s Panic series called “Darkest Hour.” She’s back today with a new major collaboration, this time with R&B “Location” sensation Khalid, who is “Working” alongside her on their bouncing new tune.
Tate’s meteoric climb from dance sensation to one of the year’s most notable new pop singers has been well-documented, but it appears like her new single will propel her even farther into the spotlight. The two teenage musicians trade rhymes on their hard ethic on the single. Tate remarked in a press release, “I am very pleased about this song I did with Khalid.” “I normally release a lot of emotional songs, but this one is just a simple summer bop,” she says. We had a lot of fun writing this song, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”
