Following the author of Harley Quinn saying DC wasn’t fond on a cartoon depiction of the caped crusader performing oral sex on Catwoman, Batman’s sex life has become a huge topic of worry on social media. That triggered a lot of discussion about, well, Batman’s sexual performances in various versions and canons, with Val Kilmer attempting to clear the air with a glass of wine.
And you can now add Zack Snyder to Kilmer’s list of supporters when it comes to what “heroes” do. On Twitter on Thursday night, the director who directed his extended version of Justice League earlier this year came out strongly in favor of depicting the intimate details of Batman’s sex life by, well, depicting the intimate details of Batman’s sex life in an illustrated panel he posted with the simple phrase “canon.”
If you’ve made it this far, you should be able to handle the image below, but be warned: it depicts what appears to be Batman and Catwoman having sex in the non-nudity section.
It’s likely the most direct example of… all of this we’ve seen from someone who is formally part of the DC Universe, even if they aren’t intending to work in the sphere again. And, based on what we’ve seen of Harley Quinn, it’s going to be significantly more brutal than the streaming show’s depiction. But it’s perhaps unsurprising to see Snyder go above and beyond to catch people’s attention. On Thursday night, he certainly drew a lot of attention online.
