It’s all well and good to subscribe to a streamer, but how are you going to view it? That was the issue for Amazon Fire TV owners who wanted to watch Peacock, NBCUniversal’s offering to the already overcrowded streaming landscape. The service has been missing from one of the modern world’s major media giants since its launch almost a year ago.
However, Variety reports that this is finally changing. The Office, Modern Family, a significant scattering of SNL, the Jurassic Park movies, Paddington, Howard the Duck, and any other weird episodes and movies that lurk on the service will be available to stream starting Thursday, June 24 for those who have chosen Amazon’s media player. (If you want to catch up on Columbo, you only have a week because the show is due to leave Peacock at the end of the month.)
Peacock was also reluctant to connect with Roku, the other big media provider, signing a deal with them only two months after they launched. Nonetheless, they fared better than HBO Max, which was without a Roku deal for nearly six months. So, Amazon Fire TV customers, you’ll be able to watch Peacock very soon, and with plenty of time before the Olympics, which may be one of the reasons NBCUniversal eventually agreed to a contract.
