The truth may exist, but it is unlikely to be found in the most recent official report on unexplained flying objects. After the US government released a long-awaited report about things no one appears to understand being detected over the last few decades, the X-Files creator, at least, believes it.
According to The New York Times, a new government report on unexplained occurrences was released on Friday, however despite the long-awaited facts regarding unexplained sightings in the atmosphere, the phenomenon remains unexplained. The result, while frustrating to anyone seeking a conclusive solution to the question of whether Earth has been visited by extraterrestrials, is that no one knows for sure.
According to the document supplied by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, a total of 143 reports accumulated since 2004 remain unexplained. Of those, 21 reports of unknown phenomena involving 18 episodes may reveal technological capabilities unknown to the United States, such as things moving without visible propulsion or at a velocity believed to be beyond the capability of Russia, China, or other terrestrial nations.
There is no proof that any of the episodes include classified American weapons programs, unknown Russian or Chinese technologies, or extraterrestrial visits. The government assessment, however, did not rule out those possibilities.
Chris Carter, the screenwriter behind the X-Files, isn’t satisfied with that. He also stated in the Recent York Times on Friday that he is “skeptical” about the new news of extraterrestrial life visiting Earth to investigate. His post goes over many of the unknowns surrounding the report’s publication, but mostly concludes (right) that we won’t get a definitive conclusion one way or the other unless there’s a true smoking gun.
I believe that this report, and the mainstream discussion around UFOs, will come and go until definitive proof is discovered. Even if wreckage or an alien corpse is discovered, a planet that can’t agree on climate change or a global pandemic may not pay heed. We’re so engulfed in the culture wars that they might well eclipse it.
This follows a report earlier this month that concluded there was no proof of extraterrestrial life being the cause of the objects sighted by military pilots. Barack Obama, for one, hasn’t completely dismissed the possibility of extraterrestrial activity, so we should have an open mind about it. But it’s evident that no one is ready to confess they know exactly what’s going on right now.
