Doja Cat may have already released a deluxe version of her latest album Planet Her with Gunna and Eve, but that hasn’t prevented fans — and some of Doja’s peers — from demanding a remix with another rapper whose visual aesthetic complements Doja’s: Yung Baby Tate. The Atlanta rapper shared a video of herself freestyling to the instrumental from Planet Her’s joyful song “Get Into It (Yuh),” generating buzz for an official remix incorporating the verse.
Doja Cat, who claimed while releasing her new album that she included rappers like Gunna, JID, and Smino on her projects to highlight her appreciation for “bars,” would be the best person to campaign for a bright rapper like Tate, despite the fact that she’s already published the album and a deluxe version. Tate is someone who might have collaborated with Doja if they had met earlier in their careers; her debut album, GIRLS, had collaborations with female rappers like Bbymutha, Kari Faux, and Latto (formerly Mulatto).
Both rappers will be busy this year, though, with Doja touring Planet Her and Tate appearing on Love & Hip-Hop. Additionally, Doja made it clear that she doesn’t plan on doing too many more collaborations going forward because she doesn’t want them to sound like mashups — but since this verse already exists, maybe she can make an exception.
