According to a report from TMZ on Thursday, Lil Durk has been involved in an unusual number of catastrophes over the previous year, and he was nearly involved in another one. Multiple unidentified individuals allegedly broke into the rapper’s Georgia house, which he shares with his girlfriend India Cox, early Sunday morning.
The break-in swiftly escalated into a shootout, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, in which the invaders, as well as Durk and Cox, exchanged gunfire. Officials have been unable to ascertain how many people broke into the rapper’s home and are asking public assistance in their investigation.
XXL was also able to collect paperwork confirming that Durk and Cox were classified as victims in the incident yet were unharmed. Durk’s brother, DThang, was shot and died outside of Club O, a strip club in Harvey, Illinois, a community south of their hometown of Chicago, a month before the house invasion and shooting. This came after King Von, Durk’s “twin” rapper, died in a club shooting in Atlanta in November 2020.
In more positive news, Durk received his first No. 1 album last month thanks to the release of Voice Of The Heroes, his joint album with Lil Baby. The 18-track effort came attached with guest appearances from Travis Scott, Young Thug, Meek Mill, and Rod Wave.
